HEY! MY NAME IS DEAN LAMB.
 

I’m a Juno Award-winning guitarist (it’s a Canadian thing, you’ve probably never heard of it), and I play in the technical death metal band Archspire, based out of Vancouver, B.C. Canada.

Archspire has toured internationally since 2009, headlining across Canada, the U.S., Europe, Japan, Australia, and plenty of other places. We try to write the fastest music we can possibly play while still keeping it somewhat listenable. I’d argue it’s still pretty hard to enjoy, but we’re working on it.

I’ve been playing guitar since I was twelve years old and have been teaching guitar for most of that time. I also make YouTube videos about learning riffs, usually with my wife Claine. I focus on fun, educational content that shows the real side of playing guitar; not the ultra-edited, flawless stuff you see everywhere else. Practicing isn’t always pretty. It’s frustrating, messy, and full of awful, awful noises. But that’s the point. I want people to see the truth: getting good at your instrument is mostly just controlled suffering... with occasional breakthroughs.

Recently, I announced that I’m starting my own guitar brand with my buddy, Greg. I’ll be making content around the whole chaotic process: The wins, the losses, and hopefully the eventual success story. I want to bring people along for the ride and show what it’s actually like to build something like this from scratch.
